On July 6-8, 2025, the Kazakhstan Masters Athletics Federation (KMAF) held the International Masters Tournament “Alatau – 2025”, as well as the traditional Championships of the Republic of Kazakhstan among veterans and amateurs in athletics among men and women in age categories 18-25, 26-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 years and older.
These competitions were held simultaneously as part of a single program at the stadium of the Almaty Olympic Training Center at 105/1 Bekzat Sattarkhanov str., Almalybak village, Karasai district, Almaty region.
This time, the competition was largely based on the word “For the first time“
For the first time, the Alatau 2025 tournament brought together representatives from seven countries: Bulgaria, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan.
The competitions included running disciplines from 100 to 5000 meters, 5000 m race walking, for the first time the program included 80, 100, 110 m hurdles, 2000 m and 3000 m steeplechase, technical types – shot put, discus, javelin, discus, hammer and weight, long jump, high jump and triple jump. The 4×100 m, 4×100 m mix, and 4×400 m relay races are also on the program.
More than 300 athletes, including relay teams from all regions aged 18 and over 80, took part in the Championships. More than 30 top national achievements have been established.
The first team place was also taken by the athletes of Almaty for the first time, winning 63 gold medals, the second place was taken by the team of the Kyzylorda region with 37 gold medals, the third place was taken by the team of the Pavlodar region with 33 gold medals.
The winners and prize-winners were awarded with diplomas and medals with the symbols of the Federation and engraved with the place and date of the event, as well as gifts and certificates from partners Anta, Herbalife, Nordski, Spine, Senior Club, Orhun Medical, Medlife, Sport Events Almaty, Rikashop, Health Concept, Cordial, Fighter Club in certain age categories., Assembly of the Peoples of Kazakhstan, Vkusvill, Asu, Rockbros.
All three days, thanks to our partner SPORT EVENTS ALMATY, the online broadcast of the competition was carried out for the first time with a demonstration on Valery Zhumadilov’s YouTube channel.
